Sales Report

This article covers how to use the Sales Report in Singenuity, including its filtering options, display modes, and a breakdown of every column available.

Written by Tyler Tanner

Overview

The Sales Report gives you a comprehensive view of the value of orders in your system. It is one of the most versatile reports in Singenuity, with multiple display modes and filtering options that allow you to view your sales data at a high level or drill down to individual line items.

Note: The Sales Report is a living report. This means it reflects the current state of orders in real time. If an order is created and later canceled, it will be removed from the report. The Sales Report shows all non-canceled orders regardless of whether payment has been collected — it represents the expected value of existing orders, not payments received.

Accessing the Sales Report

Navigate to manage.singenuity.com and select Reports in the top menu (located between Products and Settings). In the left-hand sidebar, select Sales under the Sales Reports category.

Filters & Options

  • Date Range: Select the date range you want the report to cover.

  • Appointment Date vs. Order Date: Choose whether the report is based on the date of the activity appointment or the date the order was created.

  • GL Code: If you have GL codes set up, you can filter the report to show only items assigned to a specific GL code. GL codes are a way to assign activities, merchandise, and other items to accounting codes for more granular financial reporting.

  • Compare Against Another Date Range: Check this box to compare two date ranges side by side — useful for period-over-period analysis.

  • Display Mode: Choose between Summary, Items, or Details mode (explained below).

  • Export: The Sales Report can be exported to a CSV file.

Display Modes

Summary Mode

Summary mode gives you a high-level overview of sales grouped by item type (e.g., all activity sales combined, all merchandise combined, etc.).

Columns:

  • Item — The name of the item or item category.

  • Quantity — The total number of units sold.

  • Gross Sales — The total revenue before discounts.

  • Discounts — The total value of discounts applied.

  • Commissions — The total commissions owed on sales (relevant if affiliates are used).

  • Net Sales — Gross sales minus discounts.

  • Taxes — The total taxes applied.

  • Total — Net sales plus taxes.

Items Mode

Items mode breaks sales down further — instead of grouping by item type, each individual rate, merchandise item, and photo product gets its own line. For example, rather than showing a single "Merchandise" row, you'll see separate rows for each product (t-shirts, water bottles, etc.).

Columns: Same as Summary mode.

Details Mode

Details mode is the most granular view, showing a separate line item for every item within every order. A single order with multiple items will appear as multiple rows. This mode includes additional filtering options not available in Summary or Items mode.

Additional Filters in Details Mode:

  • Affiliate — Filter by one or more affiliates. Affiliates are individuals or companies that resell your activities and are tracked for commission purposes.

  • Minimum Party Size — Filter to show only orders that meet a minimum number of guests.

  • Employee — Filter by the employee who created the order.

Columns:

  • Segment — Whether the line item is an activity, merchandise item, or photo.

  • Name — The name of the item.

  • Activity Status — The current status of the activity: Upcoming, Checked In, Completed, or No Show. Canceled orders do not appear in this report.

  • Order Number — The order number the line item belongs to.

  • Quantity — The number of units for this line item.

  • Amount Sold — The dollar value of this line item before discounts.

  • Discount Total — The discount applied to this line item, if any.

  • Net Sale — Amount sold minus the discount.

  • Taxes Applied — The taxes applied to this line item.

  • Total — Net sale plus taxes.

  • Activity Date — The date of the activity.

  • Date Booked — The date the order was created.

  • Time Booked — The time the order was created.

  • Appointment Date — The scheduled date of the appointment.

  • Appointment Time — The scheduled time of the appointment.

  • Employee Name — The employee who created the order.

  • Customer Name — The name of the customer on the order.

  • Online or Internal — Whether the order was placed online by the customer or internally by staff.

  • Package — Whether this item was part of a package.

  • Affiliate — The affiliate associated with this order, if applicable.

  • Commission — The commission earned by the affiliate on this line item.

  • Commission Total — The running commission total per segment (activity, merchandise, or photo).

  • Voucher Number — The voucher number attached to the order, if applicable.

  • Agent Name — The affiliate agent's name, if entered at the time of booking.

  • Notes — Any notes added to the booking.

Conclusion

The Sales Report is your go-to for understanding the value of orders in your system.
